This Rado Diastar quartz watch arrived at our Geneva watchmaking workshop for a complete restoration following a complete stop and significant wear of its components.
The owner reported a non-functioning watch along with visible aesthetic deterioration.
A full technical inspection was therefore carried out to accurately identify all components requiring intervention.
Initial Diagnosis
During the intake inspection, several issues were identified.
Movement Condition
Initial testing confirmed that the quartz movement was operational.
However, the battery was completely depleted, preventing the watch from running.
➡️ To ensure long-term reliability, a more comprehensive solution was selected:
full movement replacement.
Battery Issue
- Fully depleted battery
- No operational function
Significant External Wear
A detailed inspection also revealed:
- Severely discolored bracelet
- Advanced case wear
- Signs of oxidation on external components
➡️ These findings justified a complete restoration.
