ABOUT US

Why get a full service for my watch?

A complete overhaul is essential to maintain your watch’s accuracy, detect potential issues early, prevent damage, and preserve its value. Regular servicing prolongs its lifespan, so you can wear it confidently.

DW

When should I perform a full service?

Typically, a full service is recommended every 4 to 5 years to ensure long-term performance and precision. However, this interval may vary depending on the manufacturer and movement type.

R

REASONS YOUR WATCH MAY NEED A SERVICE:

  • Impact or Shock:

A significant shock or impact can damage the internal components of your watch, even if the damage isn’t immediately visible. A full service helps detect and repair any potential damage caused by an impact, ensuring your watch continues to function properly.

  • Water Exposure

Water exposure can cause internal damage to your watch. A full service will clean and dry the movement thoroughly, inspect and replace the seals if needed. This ensures continued protection against water damage and helps maintain your watch’s accuracy over time.

  • Exposure to Extreme Temperatures:

Prolonged exposure to very high or low temperatures can affect your watch’s performance and accuracy. A full service allows us to detect and correct any damage caused by extreme temperature conditions.

  • Extended Use Without Maintenance:

Using your watch for an extended period without regular maintenance can lead to a buildup of dirt and degraded lubricant inside the movement, compromising its function. A full service will clean and lubricate the movement while identifying and fixing any wear or internal damage.

What happens if i neglect servicing my watch?

Without regular maintenance, several issues can arise with your watch, including:

Loss of Accuracy

Lack of lubrication can cause excessive friction between parts, leading to a loss of accuracy in the watch’s movement.

Premature Wear

Without regular cleaning and lubrication, dust particles and other debris can accumulate, accelerating wear on internal components.

Waterproofing Issues

Over time, waterproof seals can degrade, reducing the watch’s water resistance and allowing moisture and dust to penetrate, which can damage the movement.

ma montre
Oxidation and Corrosion

Moisture inside the case can cause oxidation and corrosion on metal parts, affecting the functionality and aesthetics of the watch.

Battery Failure"

For quartz watches, a battery not replaced can deplete and leak, causing irreversible damage to the movement.

Damage to Dial and Hands

Dust accumulation and moisture can also affect the dial and hands, compromising their appearance and function.
